Grand Master (Chess)

Event details:

Get ready for a fight between the black and the white. Find a way to checkmate your opponent's King, in a game of chess. The smartest and the quickest shall be the "Grand master".

No. of teams per college/university: 2
No. of participants in each team : 1

Rules:

• Laws of Chess are applicable.
• Swiss System Method will be used for ranking.
• Each move must be done within the allotted time, failing which results in game loss.
• Participants may not use any notes, outside resources of information or advice from others during game play.
• Analysis on another player's board is not permitted during game play.

Judging Criteria:

• Time taken to complete each round.
• Points given in each round:
  Winner – 1
  Draw – ½
  Lose – 0
